With us heading into August, and GenCon just around the corner it seems a good time to look to the future. What in the future of gaming are you looking forward to? Is it something in one of your table top games? A new game coming out? An expansion? Some bit of news?
Personally, I think the thing I'm hoping for the most is to find what FFG is doing with the L5R license as far as RPGs go. The universal narrative dice system gives me hope for an L5R system that uses it, but I don't want to assume. I doubt there'll be word at GenCon for it either, but FFG is a smart company that puts out solid products. They're not going to leave that money lying on the table.
What about you? What are you looking forward to?
Frontier Space, Ironsworn and Art of Wuxia. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look into those. Are they all Table Top RPGs or just other related games?
DeleteI am curious, but not excited, for Starfinder.
ReplyDeleteBut very excited for the return of TORG! May not ever play it again, but it will make me happy to have the option.
Are you making it to GenCon this year?
I will be. Still don't knwo what my schedule is going to be like. I sadly couldn't get into the L5R opening tournament but oh well :P
DeleteYou?
Yes. I will be working for AEG, mostly in the booth. So I should have some free time in the evening apart from Friday.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we can catch up at some point.
Sadly, because of real life, I've been substantially on RPG hiatus. My only gaming has been about 5 hours/month with a rotating-game/GM group over Roll20.
ReplyDeleteI just started running a Force & Destiny campaign, with just the first session under our belt. Because of scheduling, we're only playing 6 hours/month right now, but I figure just get it started.
So what am I looking forward to? Having gotten the F&D off the ground and running, the next step in my diabolical gaming plan is to get some Shadow of the Demon Lord going - both one-shots and hopefully a campaign. I want to have 1-2 scenarios ready to go to run at online gaming Cons & online one-shots I set up. The game is designed so that an entire campaign is eleven relatively modest adventures - so that's pretty tempting, too.
I'm a big fan of the FFG Star Wars system. I love the dice mechanics and the situations it can create on the fly to keep things interesting. I hope you have fun with it!
