I mentioned wanting to do more press stuff and sure enough the next day my inbox had an interesting news stories. Bezier Games, makers of the party game Werewolf, have a kickstarter up for a deluxe edition. Now, this game isn't the normal table top fare, but the times I've played it - or even just seen it played - I've had an absolute blast.
Below the break is a direct cut and past of their press release. Or click here to go straight to the kickstarter. As always, make your own decision on if you like it or not, but I'm likely going to be buying in.
Bring new life to your get-togethers with Bezier Games’ new Deluxe Edition of the beloved party game Ultimate Werewolf.
The Kickstarter launched January 7 and runs until February 3. There are dozens of stretch goals to raise $5,000+ (over $17,000 has been funded already!) to fund the newest, most magnificent version of werewolf yet. Unlocked stretch goals include two expansions and several additional “alternative artwork” cards. Upcoming stretch goals include a free timer app (iOS/Android), a comprehensive, immersive scenario called “Night of the Black Moon,” additional expansions and even more artwork.
Ultimate Werewolf Deluxe Edition has been redesigned with simplified instructions, an improved card design, and beautiful new artwork for all 78 role cards.
Also included in the every copy of Ultimate Werewolf Deluxe Edition is a brand new Wolfpack expansion with six new wolf characters that may surprise you, including the Big Bad Wolf, the vegetarian Fruit Brute, and Virginia Woolf.
Even more, 16 new “ArtPacks” have also been created by different artists, including notable boardgame artists Klemens Franz (Agricola, Suburbia) and Doris Matthäus (Carcassonne, Bohnanza), and best-selling children’s book authors Debbie Ridpath Ohi and Gus Batts. Each ArtPack includes 10 cards: one Seer, two Werewolves and seven Villagers. Each game purchase comes with one ArtPack (of your choice) for free at the most basic tier, allowing you to swap out the standard cards for these new custom ones. Stretch goals add additional cards to each of the ArtPacks.
