State Of The Blog Author

In lieu of the normal discussion post that goes up Friday, I wanted to let people know that there may be some changes in the posting schedule to Reality Refracted and to Shattered Refractions - for those that read both.

The big change is namely this: I am now employed, twice. I currently have a job at Best Buy doing part time work. I also have a full time job at the local university helping to troubleshoot and track down wireless interference. This means that I won't have a whole ton of free time, which may lead to missed blog posts.

Now, the front page says that Reality Refracted updates "multiple times a week" and I can still hold to this. However, those posts may be shorter than normal in some places. Also, I may have to scale back down to 3 or 4 posts some weeks. I'm hoping to keep going at the normal amount of content, but we'll see what happens.

That said, and to make this something of a discussion, what type of update schedule would be best for you - the readers. Do you prefer 3, 4, or 5 days a week? If multiple - but not all - days a week do you prefer a Mon/Wed/Fri schedule? A Tues/Thurs one? Or some weird mix of in between?

Sound off in the comments below. And hopefully the transition here won't be too jarring. (It honestly shouldn't be if I manage my time right.)

  1. I won't hold it against you if you miss posts, you gotta pay the bills and I can't see anything wrong with you doing that.

As for how many posts per week, I think quality is more important than quantity so if you don't have the time to work on a post, take the time and make it count. I think we're all pressed for time these days, so I'd rather see a few quality posts.

  2. I like to know when something updates, so a set day/days schedule would make me happy. I'll probably check daily anyway.
